Anoushka Shankar

Anoushka Shankar Anoushka Shankar, an Indian-born British American artist and a sitarist is best known for her music. She was also the youngest and first woman to be awarded the British House of Commons Award. Anoushka Sitar Shankar, one of the Indian young sitar artist. She's a child of Ravi Shankar and a former student. Born in London and grew up in New Delhi, she spent the early years of her life traveling between London and New Delhi. At New Delhi, she made her debut at just thirteen years old. After moving to Encinitas, CA in 1999 she received the high-school degree. Anouskha is an aspiring young lady, but she has a very remarkable career in the field of recording and performing. For a long time she regularly performs with her father. Her debut solo album, Anourag, was released in 1998. The Grammy Award-winning Live at Carnegie Hall was released two years later than her first solo album. She has appeared at many famous venues throughout the world. Anoushka's career does not only comprise musical performances. In 2002, she wrote the book Bapi The Love of My Live this is an illustrated biography that pays special honor to her late father Ravi Shankar. She has also acted in movies in 2003. She acted in the film Dance Like a Man where she plays an aspiring Bharat Natyam dancer. Anoushka Shakar's professional career is only going to continue to expand and grow. We can look forward to seeing many interesting things coming from her. Anoushka was born in England, but spent most of her youth in between London as well as Delhi. After that, she relocated to California and enrolled in the high school. From the age of nine she began her studies in music under her father. She made her first on the sitar 4 years later during his 75th birthday celebration in Delhi. Anoushka performed with her father on his worldwide tour, gained an impressive amount of experience. As a teenager, she performed at Carnegie Hall as part of Peter Gabriel's WOMAD and even recorded with George Harrison. The youngest female to receive the House of Commons Shield, awarded by British Parliament in recognition of her musical talent and artistic ability within the Asian Arts.
